Fan Fridays

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Today, we’re starting a new tradition here on LeetStreetBoys.com Every Friday, we will be posting LeetStreet Boys fan video, art or music created by YOU! We will also aim to interview the video creators for the website when possible. To start things off, here is (I believe) the first ever LeetStreet Boys AMV:

Nikki, from New York was one of our first fans, and got really into our music even before we released the music video for “Yuri The Only One.” She’s been an awesome fan and done a lot to help us with promotion. At one point, she even asked if LeetStreet Boys would perform at her wedding. (She may have been the first to inquire about this, though there have been many more since.)

Nikki, if you’re reading this – great job on the AMV, thanks a lot, and let us know if there’s a wedding gig! (Do you have any friends who are single? Heehee.)

Want to have your fan video, art, or music featured on LeetStreetBoys.com? Contact us here in the comments, or send us an email with your creative work to let us know. Hope to see many more!

Meet Me At Comiket

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Found a fascinating piece about otaku music at Comiket, the world’s largest anime, manga and video game fan convention. Comiket is held twice a year in Tokyo, Japan and draws over half a million people. Check out the article here!

Man Marries Video Game Girlfriend IRL

Friday, November 27th, 2009

This past weekend in Japan, a man married his girlfriend from the Konami dating sim Love Plus for Nintendo DS. This is the first ever real life marriage between a human and a video game. They actually had a real wedding ceremony, with friends giving speeches, a DJ, and it was televised online. Pretty remarkable!

Most otaku have probably fantasized about marrying an anime or video game character at one point or another. But to actually do this? Crazy, awesome, or pathetic??

What do you — as an otaku — think about this story?

Eddie Rath, the Naruto Rapper

This is quite entertaining! Thanks to Jessica for the tip. Always enjoy discovering other otaku musicians. This is my favorite Eddie Rath track, entitled “Itachi.”

He has a whole album out with rap about Naruto. For more of Eddie Rath’s music, click here.
