Nintendo Unveils New Starter Pokemon!

Courtesy of CoroCoro comics comes the unveil of 3 new pokemon in the series, the starter pokemon of the new Isshu region. With generation 5 fast approaching by the end of the year, we have some questions for Leet Street Nation! Click the jump to see what they really look like and offer your opinion.

Yep, there they are. Hard to believe that we’re going to soon have over 500 pokemon by the end of the year (probably over 600!) I remember back when me and my friends were freaking out about #151, Mew. So with this new reveal, we’ve got some questions for LeetStreet Nation:
I loved pokemon when i was little and i was appart of that generation where there was only 151 pokemon. I was in kindergarden at the time, and capable of nameing every single one, but as the generations went by, i never realy got into the other reigons. I still love playing pokemon (my old red, blue and yellow) but after the first season, i just thought they were making too much of a good thing. Sure the original designs are kind of bland, but personaly, I feel the designs now aren’t as great as they once were. They’re too complex for my taste.
I love the first few seasons of Pokemon, it brings back many fond lower school memories. However, I feel it lost some of the glory once they got rid of misty. I mean it’s still definitely fun, just not as awesome as it once was (yes I still watch it all the timexD). As for the games, they keep taking a great thing and adding to it. I’ve played every single Pokemon game (including the different versions) up to Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver which I’m working on now. I think the games have maybe gotten a little easier, but that might just be because I branched off from just handhelds when I was 10 or 12. I’ll always dig the original Pokemon the most, but a lot of the new designs are interesting too. I’m not going to lie though, I’m not liking the look of these new starter Pokemon (Tsutaaja is alright but I definitely don’t like the others aesthetically).
Water type for life, even if the first stage doesn’t look that great.
water…always…wins.
I like how Smugleaf looks, but I’m a fire starter, so I’ll get Pignition.
Curious as to what Wotter will look like when it evolves, though.
Yeah, I loved the original 151..
The regions after Kanto just started to kill it.
I didn’t mind Johto, but after that I just never got into it.
Honestly, I think they’re making too much of a good thing.
Like an overused joke, you know?
Also, the second question, “Which starters do you think Ash will get.”
It’s obvious that he’s going to get all of them. XD
I like all of them, but Pokabu the most. But I have a question. Is Pokabu an evolved form of Pikachu and/or Raichu? I would really want an answer to that. Anyways, I used to live in Maryland. And while I was in Maryland, I didn’t get to watch Pokemon for a long time. But a while after my sixth birthday, i finally got to watch Pokemon, even though i missed a lot of episodes, and i haven’t even watched Pokemon in my California life! But soon, i hope i will. And i like the new starter Pokemon’s looks. All three of them have very good looks.
They are just so cool
I loved the Kanto and Hoenn regions. They both had a certain colorfulness to them and these pokemon seem to replicate that. I can’t wait for Gen 5!
@Lemonz: Last generation he only got Chimchar and Turtwig. Dawn had Piplup. Perhaps a new female companion will have on of these starters?
Its getting way ridiculous, they still portray Ash as being a 10 year old kid out on his own. And the series has been out for how many years now?? Seriously, and the pokemon in the pictures don’t actually look like anything I would see in one of their games. My friends and I will probably still buy the game though.
they REALLY need to stop all the pokemon….
D:
enough already!
I like RPG’s when I got the first gen games I was like “this is an interesting game” my first was blue, a few years later i got red then yellow. I had trouble getting all and leveling them my charizard and mewtwo were the only strongest. I didn’t care for the anime at first but now i’m watching it and thinking about getting the box sets of the seasons i’ve missed. the second gen i have the originals of but didn’t play much of then i got the first two of the third, and played a little bit then lost them in my room, and found 1 but not the other, i got the third one a year ago and beat it it was hacked and still is because i have alot of useful stuff i can’t bring to the 4th and remake 2nd games. I got all three of the fourth and both remakes of second and beaten all. I don’t care what people think I love this series and it’s spin offs (got almost all) Ilike all the pokemon.
I also liked the original and the hoenn. i’m workin through Sinnoh right now, and it’s ok. I aslo remember spazzing over mew. hell, i saw the first movie in theatres so i could have the card! and burger king pssed out the gold pokemon cards. Anyone else remembe that? anyway. I’d have to go with smugleaf (i cant recall the name above) Grass always works for me. I’ve pwned fire many times with either my torterra or my sceptile.
Mijumiru IS SOOOOO CUTE!!
I adore water types!! <3 <3
I am really looking forward to playing with the new line up, even if the numbers are getting a little outrageous for Pokemon nowadays, I ….doubt this will be the last we see of new pokemon lol.
