‘Baba Yetu’ Music Video
Christopher Tin, composer of musical piece “Baba Yetu” from Civilization 4 recently debuted the official music video at Carnegie Hall. ‘Baba Yetu’ has claimed numerous awards, and is an example of how uplifting and powerful modern video game music can be. The song is available on his album Calling All Dawns.
The video director, Brooke Hanson, took footage from the Civilization games and traced the history of human development, starting from ancient Egypt up through our exploration of outer space. It’s very moving.
What is your favorite video game soundtrack?
Final Fantasy VII
“Open your heart” from one of the Sonic computer games was pure pwnage
The soundtrack from Homeworld was excellent. The Agnus Dei by Samuel Barber that they play on your return to Kharak is one of the most moving pieces of classical music I’ve ever heard.
