For a little clarification, as some entries have started to come in (all very cool, too!), here’s an outline guide from our friends at theBizmo, for the actual artwork format…

“Firstly, for the size of the image, the best results will be had from an image that is at least 300dpi, but ideally, 600dpi. In terms of physical print size, think of an imaginary box on the body of the t-shirt, that is approx 7.8” X 11.4” (200mm x 290mm). It doesn’t matter which way it’s orientated, portrait or landscape. The physical print size is a secondary requirement to the minimum resolution of 300dpi, as we can resize images to fit the space available.

Secondly, for the file format, the best results are had from using a .png file. These are easy to create if you happen to have high end graphic design software such as Photoshop, but it’s a little pricey to go and buy just so you can send us a design! However, there’s a great open source design software package called ‘Gimp’ which can be downloaded for FREE from www.gimp.org It’s not quite as sophisticated as Photoshop, but… it’s pretty good.

This will enable you to produce artwork as a .png, with transparent backgrounds. For instance, if you wanted to put the image of a white ball onto a black t-shirt, it would work best if your image was a white ball with a transparent background, rather than a white ball on a black background. Likewise, if you wanted, say… a black and white checkered pattern. Your design would only need the white squares against a transparent background. We don’t need the actual black background, as the t-shirt itself is the background color. However, if you have no access to graphic design software, all standard image formats will be accepted. If a design is amazing, and the Leetstreet Boys put it in their top 10… we’re more than happy to work with it and make it print ready.

Oh and… your design can make use of both the front and back of the t-shirt.”
